-
- We're evaluating Galaxy right now. It's pretty amazing. It's very big,
- pretty expensive, but seems to be the king of x-platform tools. It's true
- C++ (they have a C version as well, and it's even object oriented with
- inheritance, etc.), covers tons of platforms, has very fast drawing speed,
- full cross platform networking, help system, is definitly not least common
- denominator, etc. I'd definitly check it out. We'll be evaluateing
- Neuron Data next. I've been investigating these things for about 6 months
- now (after having worked a couple years on XVT, building a C++ framework
- for XVT, and also our proprietary x-platform framework (essentially a
- MacApp port)). Anyway, Galaxy and and Neuron Data are what we've narrowed
- it down to.
-
- They aren't for everybody, but these tools can save you a lot of time.
- And from what I've seen so far, even if I didn't need cross platform, I'd
- still be looking at Galaxy (and possibly Neuron as well). They give you a
- lot more than something like MFC.
